The Cátedra de Ciberseguridad INCIBE-UEx-EPCC is an initiative promoted by the University of Extremadura in collaboration with the National Institute of Cybersecurity (INCIBE), with funding from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan - Next Generation EU Funds. The main mission of this chair is to promote cybersecurity culture in Extremadura through training, dissemination and research actions aimed at different groups, from university students to companies and citizens in general.

With offices at the Polytechnic School of Cáceres and the University Center of Mérida, the Chair carries out activities under the coordination of Professors Andrés Caro Lindo and Pedro José Pardo Fernández, respectively. Among the actions carried out are the organization of training sessions, specialized courses -such as the course “Your Future Job”, aimed at people with intellectual disabilities-, as well as awareness campaigns and participation in national events of reference, such as the National Conference on Cybersecurity Research (JNIC).

The Chair has also promoted the creation of the first official Hack The Box community in Spain, based in Cáceres, and has developed educational materials accessible through its website. All this is part of an overall strategy to consolidate digital security as a key competence both in the academic environment and in the business fabric of the region.
